Yoga has changed my life and it might change yours too. For over 25 years yoga has enhanced my life. It quiets my chattering mind, releases tension, creates flexibility of body, mind and spirit. But most of all keeps me in the flow of life.
As a maturing woman I must listen to my body and limitations now more than ever. As we ripen, certain body parts need more love and compassion. In my classes everyone works at their own level and makes their own accommodations.
Great stretches, varied breath work, and current mind-body trends are explored. Each class ends with Savasana, resting or corpse pose to help learn the ‘relaxation response’. This is an effective treatment to ward off a range of stress related disorders. Dr. Herbert Benson, author of this term says, It’s the opposite of the fight or flight response.”
As Dr. Christine Northrup states, “I want to die as young and as late as possible”.

Some 20 years ago I took yoga with Diana at Triton College. At the end of the class in the cool down her voice relaxed me so much I found myself drifting off and drooling. OMG did anyone see? I followed her class as the class moved to Unity Church in Oak Park, then River Forest Community Center and finally Unity Temple in Oak Park.
In this time of Covid, it’s yoga and walking!!
